1945

Following the war, Theo Goudsmit and two brothers open a factory for punch and die work. The company - Goudsmit Bros. - manufactures products such as drawing pins, crown caps and cover buttons. Goudsmit also does punch and die work for multinational company Philips.

1950

The first steps towards magnetism. Theo Goudsmit focuses on the development of magnet systems. He improves existing clamping techniques and taps into a new market.

1959

Theo Goudsmit founds Th. Goudsmit Magneetsystemen and sets up business in Eindhoven. The main activities are the production and sale of magnets and magnet systems. He is assisted by his son Martin who will take over the company in 1982.

1976

The company grows rapidly and moves to larger locations several times in the years that follow. In 1976, Goudsmit moves to the current location in Waalre.

1982

Martin Goudsmit takes over the company from his father Theo. By then, Goudsmit already makes magnetic separators and filters, magnetic handling and transport systems, but now also starts manufacturing magnetic systems for the recycling industry.

1985

Purchase and expansion of the adjacent building. Start of export to Japan, initially for the demanding food industry.

1988

Establishment of Goudsmit Magnetic Supplies B.V., focusing on the sales of permanent magnets for the automotive, aerospace, e-mobility, medical and offshore industry. Nowadays, Supplies is ISO9001, ISO14001, AS9100D and IATF 16949 certified.

1989

Expansion of Goudsmit Magnetic Systems BV. The company premises grow from 8 m² to 20,000 m² in 40 years' time. In the same period the number of employees grows from 3 to 120.

1992

1992: Foundation of Goudsmit Magnetics UK. | 1993: Foundation of Aimants Goudsmit France S.a.r.l. | 1996: Foundation of sales office in Germany. Deliveries are now being made to 80 countries around the world. Customer-friendliness, quality, but also the specialization in magnet systems are the basis of this tremendous success.

2003

Johan Goudsmit takes over the company from his father Martin. Family company Goudsmit Magnetics continues under the management of the third generation. Goudsmit China is founded.

2009

There is an increasing demand for industrial magnet systems. The current factory and office spaces no longer suffice. The renovation of the premises at Petunialaan doubles the production capacity.

2012

Founder Theo Goudsmit dies in June at the age of 94. He was involved in the production until the very end and could be found in the company every day.

2014

Start of the joint venture with Ningbo Hitech Magnetic Assemblies in China.

2015

Opening of in-house test centre. This enables us to test the reliability and performance of all magnet systems used for metal separation, recycling, handling and demagnetizing.

2017

Goudsmit does not have a formal hierarchy anymore, but is a self-managing organization in which all employees are responsible for expanding the company. This offers more flexibility and possibilities to develop talent.

Magnete für nachhaltige Lösungen

Industrielle Magnetsysteme
