Goudsmit Magnetic Systems from Waalre has developed a new set of cleanflow magnets.  Both the standard and the rotating cleanflow magnets will not include welded seams in the new design, which allows for a very smooth finish and excludes the formation of bacteria. The Ra values between 0.05 and 0.3 µm ensure that the magnet meets the highest sanitary requirements, making it possible to remove even the finest iron dust from these products. The door construction has also been improved; it now includes a quick-release between the extractor and magnets, so the extractor is always drawn out as well. This eliminates any chance that the extractor could be left in the product flow while the magnets are being cleaned, which could result in iron being reintroduced into the product flow. A new seal now makes it possible for high levels of overpressure to be used without any leakage. This is of particular importance when filling big bags.

CLEANFLOW
Cleanflow magnets are available in standard, automatic cleaning and rotating versions. They remove iron particles from powders and, depending on which version is chosen, are suitable for difficult-to-access places and poorly flowing, fatty powders, such as powdered milk. Such magnets can be delivered in combination with a metal detector so the product can be checked just prior to loading and/or packaging to be absolutely certain it no longer contains any metal particles. Seeing as how the requirements in the pharma and food industries are becoming ever more stringent, Goudsmit plans to utilize the new design for all newly manufactured cleanflow magnets.
