Liquids and powders in pressure lines

This robust magnetic filter is suitable for industrial applications where liquid mixtures and powders are transported in pressure pipes up to 10 bar.

The design and finish are industrial, meaning they are only intended for use in applications with no risk of bacterial growth.

We can calculate the precise pressure drop with these filters in your situation for gaseous or liquid products using our FEM software. The pressure drop depends on the physical properties of your product flow (viscosity) and its speed. Please contact us about this.

Types

  • DN50 to DN-125: can be cleaned by manually taking the magnet unit out.
  • DN100-150-200: can be cleaned by sliding the entire magnet unit out over the guide and then pulling it apart.
These types are easier and faster to clean. But also more durable, because the magnet unit remains on the separator, and therefore less likely gets damaged.

Filtering & discharging of ferrous impurities

How does the magnetic filtering work?

The magnetic unit with very strong neodymium magnetic bars is positioned in the middle of the product flow. The product with ferrous impurities passes several magnetic bars while flowing through the filter.

The magnets attract passing ferromagnetic contaminants. The captured particles stick to the magnets, while the purified product flows further.

How does the cleaning / iron discharging work?

Once the product flow is stopped, you take the entire magnetic grid unit out of the product channel.

Then pull the magnetic bars out of the extractor tubes, causing the ferrous particles to fall off the extractor tubes.

For larger passages, the cleaning is done by manually sliding the magnet unit out over guides, because these magnet units are too heavy to lift.

Cleaning / iron discharging sequence

  1. Stop the product flow.
  2. Loosen the srew connections of the magnet unit.
  3. Lift / slide the complete magnet unit out of the housing.
  4. Take / slide the magnet unit out of the extractor unit.
Small types: and place it away from the extractor unit on a clean surface.
Catch the ferrous particles that now will fall off the tubes and dispose them.
  5. Wipe clean all parts with a soft cloth and - if necessary - a suitable cleaning fluid.
  6. Shove the magnet unit back into the extractor unit.
  7. Place / shove the complete magnet unit assembly back into the housing.
  8. Re-tighten the screw connections.
  9. Restart the product flow.
