IATF 16949 certificate
The IATF 16949 automotive quality certificate held by Goudsmit Magnetic Supplies, in combination with our advanced measuring equipment, is your guarantee that every aspect of our magnets meets quality and safety requirements.
Magnets used in high-tech systems require the application of the highest standards of quality and safety. That is why it is important that suppliers continuously focus on the standards and requirements associated with technological advancements.
IATF 16949 was developed by the International Automotive Task Force (IATF) in collaboration with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The IATF consists of an international group of major motor vehicle manufacturers.
Together, they establish the quality requirements for the design, development, production, installation and servicing of automotive-related products - Tier 1.

Goudsmit’s attainment of the AS9120 certification makes us one of the few qualified European suppliers to the aerospace industry.
High-tech advancements in aerospace and defence are moving forward incredibly fast. It is not quality, but process control that determines whether products meet a customer´s requirements. As a supplier and manufacturer, we are fully aware of this.
The design, development and manufacture of products must be consistent with the requirements of ISO9001 éand IAQG - International Aerospace Quality Group. Combined they form the AS9120 certificate.
AS9120 sets the standard for safety and reliability for the delivery of products to the civil, military and aviation sectors. It is a globally accepted standard.
There are few companies worldwide with the expertise to meet AS9120 requirements. We hold the AS9120 certificate, making us your qualified partner.

ATEX and IECEx certificates
Goudsmit delivers ATEX and IECEx certified magnets and magnetic systems.
Magnetic systems are often placed in spaces where dust explosions can occur. It goes without saying that the magnetic system itself must not be an ignition source.
Working in an explosive environment therefore requires strict guidelines and measures. It is not only equipment and products that must be compliant. Employees must also know how to work safely in explosion risk zones.
ATEX and IECEx are quality certificates for equipment manufacturers and users. Knowing how hazardous situations arise and excluding them by checking whether products, equipment, the working environment and employees meet the set requirements.
We are experts in electro-technical explosion protection. Our magnetic systems are ATEX certified.
An externally certified quality assurance system is required for manufacturers of ATEX equipment.
Goudsmit is one of the few companies in the magnet industry to possess the IECEx certification.
Magnetic filtering prevents dust explosions
Detecting and removing metal contaminants prevents mechanical sparks from causing dust explosions. We make this happen with our magnetic separators for bulk goods.
VDA 6.3 certificate
Goudsmit employees are certified to conduct internal process audits in accordance with VDA 6.3, a standard developed by the German automotive industry.
In addition to IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 certification, VDA 6 certification is essential to demonstrate that we are a reliable manufacturer for the automotive sector.
- VDA 6 certification is required by the automotive industry in Germany.
In addition to manufacturing high-quality components, the production process itself is important. In the long term, it must be demonstrated that both comply with the standard.
- Since 2015, we possess the knowledge and skills to conduct audits in accordance with the VDA 6.3 standard.
With VDA 6.3 we offer more. For example, in the preparation phase of a project, we establish the potential risks. These are given extra attention during the audit. In the reports that we then draw up, we describe what improvements are needed to achieve a perfectly controlled production process.
We produce permanent magnets for the automotive industry that must meet extremely high quality standards. During the manufacturing process, we put considerable time and effort into testing and measuring the magnets, thereby making use of advanced measuring equipment. These measurement techniques offer you an added quality guarantee because they ensure the desired material properties, dimensions and behaviour of a permanent magnet in a particular environment or assembly.

HDN / PED welding certificate
Goudsmit is a member of the HDN, like some of our suppliers and major customers in the food industry.
HDN stands for ‘Hygienic Design Network’ and is a collaborative partnership of companies in the food industry, ranging from component suppliers and system integrators to food manufacturers.
The goal of the HDN is to prevent problems during the production of food products at the end of the production line. This can only be achieved when the entire supply chain is involved.
The HDN method offers a uniform interpretation of standards and requirements, with a practical approach to compliance. Quality is guaranteed by a certification system for designers, engineers, welders and inspectors.
Our hygienic welders are HDN / PED certified. To become certified, welders must pass a theory and practical test, with all welds subject to X-ray testing in accordance with the European Pressure Equipment Directive (PED). With their HDN certification they are allowed to weld hygienic and pressure systems.

EHEDG - Hygienic design
Goudsmit Magnetic Systems is the first magnet supplier to become a member of EHEDG.
The European Hygienic Engineering & Design Group is a consortium of equipment manufacturers, food industry groups, research institutions and public health authorities.
It was founded in 1989 with the main objective of promoting hygiene in the processing and packaging of food and chemicals.
REACH and RoHs compliance
Goudsmit Magnetics supplies RoHs- and REACH-compliant magnets, magnet assemblies and magnetic systems worldwide.
EU regulations on chemicals REACH (EC) No. 1907/2007. REACH is the EU regulation on the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals for the purposes of risk management.
EU directive on the restriction of hazardous substances RoHs (EC) No. 2011/65/EU. The RoHs (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) is a European directive aimed at limiting the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment.
In 2015, Goudsmit Magnetics joined Brainport Industries: a unique ecosystem formed by high-tech suppliers in the Netherlands.
The aim is to ‘connect’ suppliers in high-tech chains in order to further increase the professionalism of the chain and to increase competitiveness.
Membership of Brainport strengthens the position of suppliers and puts all the resources and knowledge they need at their disposal to make high-quality products and ensure quality.
The ‘Open Supply Chain’ created by Brainport also gives us the opportunity to become involved in the development of machines for OEMs and others, both much earlier and for much longer in the development process.
In 2017, Goudsmit joined NAG, the trade association for Dutch companies operating in Aerospace & Airport Development.
Members are supported through the development of expertise, advocacy, access to the national and international markets, and an extensive network.
NAG members are active in aircraft maintenance, aircraft manufacturing, airport development & infrastructure, and all related services. NAG’s mission is the continuous optimization of the international competitiveness of the Dutch aviation industry.
