Metal contaminants in plastics often lead to production stops and loss of quality. It can also cause damage to injection moulding machines, extruders, calenders, mixers, grinders and other equipment. Moulds, dies and other machine parts can also be damaged by metal contamination. You can prevent this iron particle damage through the use of magnet systems. For example, Cleanflow magnets ensure you of continuous high production quality and an uninterrupted production process. The magnets can be built into vertical pneumatic conveying lines, above conveyor belts or in existing systems such as vibratory conveyors. Magnet systems for plastic and rubber remove iron particles down to around 30 µm from powders and granulates.

Rubber

Very large amounts of iron are produced during recycling of car tyres. It is very important that both the iron and the rubber are made as pure as possible. When the iron contains lots of rubber the recycled material has less value. Similarly, lots of iron in the rubber leads to lower quality rubber products. This is why magnets are used during the recycling of rubber. At the beginning of the process overband magnetic separators, magnetic drum separators and magnetic head pulleys are used for initial separation. For protection of the end product we recommend bullet magnets and external pole magnets. For the conveyance of steel particles once they have been captured, Goudsmit also has an important magnetic solution. Steel in car tyres is exceptionally hard and transporting it with regular rubber conveyor belts results in frequent failures. Goudsmit magnetic feed conveyors do not have these problems and ensure uninterrupted production.
