Chemical

Foreign metal particles can lead to problems in the chemical industry. Rust particles cause discoloration of raw materials, such as washing powder, and coatings. Such rust particles can also occur when processing gas and oil, and can cause major damage during combustion in a turbine or engine. Magnetic filters remove rust particles precisely and efficiently.

Undesirable metal particles can also change product properties. An example is the conductivity in the manufacture of raw materials such as carbon black for use in all kinds of batteries. In the manufacture of plastics, metal inclusions can even be dangerous, such as in the case of electrical cable insulation. For this reason we use magnets that remove small and weakly magnetic metal particles.

A completely different application is the use of magnets for the recovery of magnetic catalysts. This results in savings.

When developing magnet systems for the chemical industry it is particularly the choice of materials that is of great importance. After all, the product may be caustic, which could damage the enclosure or the seal.

In the chemical branch it is also important that the magnet system is completely self-cleaning and can be used in processes with high pressure. The Goudsmit product range includes various types of magnetic filters and Cleanflow magnets for applications in the chemical industry.
